I'll be darned
Hubby tried to setup the crib today to surprise me while I was at the doctor; unfortunately I had the rails in the back of the van, so he couldn't do it. Sweet thought though! He did dust our bedroom - got all the cobwebs down. He also hooked up the computer to our living room TV. He played play-doh with the kids after their outside time got rained out. After I got home from the doctor he talked very responsibly about changes we need to make to our lifestyles. I really feel like he's progressing as a person.
Another BIG thing happened today; we got a car seat! My grandmother picked 3 yesterday at the store for me to research. I checked all 3 out online and determined I wanted the least expensive of the 3. I had a 10% off coupon, so I met her at McDonald's before my appointment to give it to her. While I was in my appointment, she drove to the store and got the new convertible car seat. We met back up at McDonald's to put it in my van. I am SO happy! This car seat rocks! I can't thank her enough! A huge weight was lifted when I got that seat home - I'm majorly thrilled about it!
On a sad note, our car insurance was cancelled due to non-payment. Hopefully hubby can get that resolved before this weekend - sometime next week at the latest.
As far as preparing laundry for the baby, I've gathered a "first load" of what I'll need except clothes. In a little while I plan on going through the 0-3 month clothes to pick the smallest to wash now. I also need to pick a "coming home" outfit.
The doctor said my blood pressure was 118/50, the baby's heart rate is 140-150, and I gained a little weight. Also, I am still 2.5-3cm dilated, and my cervix is still thick. The baby is head down, and she guessed he's about 7 pounds. So nothing new to report. The doctor still wants me to pick a date - I still don't want to. If I have to pick a date it will likely be October 1st. I go back next Wednesday at 11:15am.
